Oh James! I have contemplated if the ease of community I’ve found amongst queer believers is due to some shared experiences of shame and secrecy in our adolescence as we wrestled (differently, but in the same vein) with acceptance of our own sexuality. Once I pulled my head from the sand, I have become the best ally I can — perhaps as a penance for years of bigotry and perhaps more as a celebration of the many ways to be made in the image of God. Thank you for sharing some of your story. I’m so glad you’re here.
